Kickstarter goes Eggstatic for an Egg.
Eggs. What are they? For many of us, a nutritional snack, but that could change from this point forth. From the minds that brought you “Secret Storage Sphere” and “GRAVITON” comes EverStand; a storage egg that can hold a few pennies.
I don’t usually write about Kickstarter projects, but EverStand was so special and unique I decided to make an exception.
Before I start, keep in mind that this has already been backed. EverStand has already received over £13,000 in donations. Why? Because apparently 229 people believed enough in a self-balancing egg to donate (on average) £60 each. And of those 229, 9 investors apparently believed so much in the egg they were willing to donate £150.
EverStand isn’t big enough to store a £5 note, so I wouldn’t call it a functional design. Whilst it’s a pretty little ornament, I would much rather spend my money on a statue of a small giraffe or elephant.
Then again, should I have expected anything more from the team that brought us a storage sphere that only seems to utilise half of its inside for storage space.
I respect that people can invest their money however they please, but I truly am struggling to understand the logic. Out of all the ornaments I could have on my desk, a pricey gold egg would be pretty low down the list. High up on that list would be a tiny gold alpaca, along with a boat for my tiny alpaca.
